Possible Workaround for Powerpoint Font Embed Bug
Lately, I've been struggling with Powerpoint font embed bug. I want to send a presentation with unusual fonts and because of that I need to embed the font so the receiver can open the presentation without any text problem.
So, I embedded the font with the usual way (just search the google "embed font in powerpoint"). the presentation saved just fine, and the size is increased from the original (indicating that the font is already embedded). For testing purpose, I sent the presentation along with some screenshots (for matching the result) to my friends. It turned out that the embedded fonts didn't work. The fonts just replaced by default font, resulting in many text bug (uppercase become lowercase, some words missing, etc).
After that, I spent many times googling, trying to understand what's wrong. But the result was nothing. There's no forum that discussed the problem I faced. I tried several random things and it simply didn't work. I tried to think another solution, such as replacing the fonts, converting the texts to pictures, etc. All of them required a considerable amount of effort while reducing the presentation quality. For that reason, I tried to search more workaround for this issues.
While searching for another workaround, I notice something. One of my fonts is actually OTF, not the usual TTF (for more information about this just search the google "OTF TTF"). Based on many forums that I crossed into, OTF fonts cannot be embedded into Powerpoint presentation. The weird thing is when some fonts cannot be embedded the powerpoint supposed to give some warning, and I didn't get any warning. Then based on that discoveries I tried to search the TTF version of the font, and I found it in no time. I installed it and tried to embed the fonts once again. Then, funny things happen. I got some warning that one font can't be embedded; the OTF font that just been replaced by the TTF version of it. So I installed the OTF version of the font once again, and tried to embed it again, and STRANGELY IT WORKS! The font embedded successfully.
So here's what I concluded:

So here's what I concluded:
- Check your font extension (TTF or OTF)
- If you have both of them, install and embed the TTF fonts first, then with the embedded powerpoint, install and embed the OTF fonts
This weird method works for me, and I hope it works for you too!
Hope it helps!
