Happy Birthday Hearthstone!
It's
been 1 year since the Hearthstone Tavern open for the first time. I was very
excited back then when I got my beta key. I didn't expect such an opportunity
to play Hearthstone earlier, because even though I've really admired Blizzard
since I was little, I never spent any money for blizzard games except for the
Diablo III and its expansion.
I
really like the concept of TCG (Trading Card Games). It relies on your skills
and creativities to create a powerful deck. Sadly, every TCG requires a huge of
money. Hearthstone is different. While the characteristics are similar to TCG,
Hearthstone doesn't involve trading, and it’s free to play! Of course money
speed up things, but at least there’s an option not to spend any money.
Furthermore, because it’s digital, it have a huge advantage; the visual
effects. Hearthstone visual effects are very astonishing and well-polished.
I
instantly fell in love with this game since beta. I played it almost every day
and my quest almost never exceeded until now. I started to follow the meta of
the game and competed in several tourney. Indonesia BlizzCon Qualifier was my
first tourney and I managed to win it with my RNG prowess.
replay for the final:
Looking
back then I did so many misplays. Not to mention that my deck isn’t completed
yet; for my control warrior I sub Alextrasza with a Golden Deathwing.
Nevertheless, it’s my greatest experience in game.
Sadly at the Blizzcon
Americas Qualifier I got kicked in the first day lol.
After
that tourney I competed in weekly GosuCup tourney and managed to get a
runner-up spot in GosuCup#7 (just after GvG patch came in). It's the first time that I got a real money from a game and it's really a wonderful experience.
Now, Hearthstone has become one of my identities. Hearthstone always managed to find a place in my conversation with my friends, whether it be in lunch, dinner, or just a random casual talks. I also got many new friends especially from the Hearthstone Indonesia Community. From my perspective as a noob game developer, Hearthstone always inspires me because it's a very well executed game.
For those wonderful encounter and experience, I'd like to thank you very much to Hearthstone! I hope that Hearthstone continue to grow and become much more fun!
Here's my random HS screenshot :3
