USB Modem Disconnect Problem - Possible Solution

So I just bought a USB modem couple of weeks ago because my rent house ISP went down. The modem did good, except for a random interval the connection was disconnected and the USB modem must be replugged to make it can connect again. So I browse on the internet, and stumbled on this weird but worked solution from an Indonesian blog; disable the USB Mass Storage. So right click to your My Computer, click device manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controller, and you will find USB Mass Storage Device there. right click and disable it, and somehow the random disconnection is gone...
