Awesome and Inspiring Game Documentaries

Free to Play and Looking for Groups, for a noob game developer and gamer like me, both of these documentaries are awesome and inspiring :’)

Free to Play, a documentaries from the DoTA pro gamers point of view, give a whole new perspective about their determination. They can't afford to lose because losing means they're nothing. Pro gamer is not a standard job where you get paid every month, if you cannot win, then you got nothing and eventually you are out of the picture. That’s why their mindset is to win because they sacrificed everything for it. It’s very inspiring about how a game can motivate people to be so determined and how people can be so determined in playing a game.

Looking for Groups, World of Warcraft documentaries to celebrate 10th WoW anniversary, give a very inspiring story about game development. Start from a small groups of programmer and artist who love games, they make a game one by one and eventually become bigger and bigger. They start to make World of Warcraft with only 60 people and developing the game for about 5 years non-stop. When the game released, the community of the game is formed and it’s so wonderful to know that the community is very supportive; there’s a mother (of course, WoW player) with a kid suffered from leukemia, and the community help the kid until recover. They keep thinking to deliver a whole new content to the player within each patch, from TBC, WOTLK, Cataclysm, MOP, until now, Warlord of Draenor. It seems that they succeed in delivering a new exciting content every patch because up until now WoW still a very significant MMORPG that can’t be replaced or cloned. The key is “make a game that you would play”.

To everyone out there who think that game is bad, please watch these documentaries and hopefully you have a new perspective about game…
