Photosync? No Thanks
Having a cloud storage is really convenient, especially if you have a good internet connection. You could save quite a lot of space by uploading your data to cloud and modify it there without keeping the real data in your storage. One of the biggest space eater is photos, so it's a good reason to keep your photos in a cloud service. Flickr is a cloud storage for photos made by yahoo, and it offers a very big space for your photos, which is 1 terabyte. The biggest drawback of Flickr is there is no official desktop app, so you should upload your photos manually via Flickr website.
Of course somebody actually try to make an unofficial photos uploader for Flickr, and one of the results is Photosync. Why I don't recommend you to use this software? Here's why, this software just deleted one of my entire photos in one folder. Here's the story: I left my PC to uploads a 16 gigs photos for the night and when I checked the upload status in the morning it's already done. I checked in the Flickr and it turns out there's just two out of five folders uploaded, so I refreshed the photosync. After the photosync refreshed, it still said that the upload is done, so I try to cut some of the folders that isn't uploaded yet to a different location and cut it back to the photosync folder. Voila! it disappeared! That folder just gone and can't be restored by any means (tried ctrl Z, and it said the folder weren't at the original location, then tried 3rd party software like recuva, and the recuva didn't find the folder).
So, don't use photosync for your Flickr uploader, please try another 3rd party software, or wait flickr make the official desktop apps. If you still insisted using photosync, back up your photo before the same things that happened to me happened to you.
